Overview and Deadlines
proposal types

Division Sessions
DEADLINE: January 14, 2026
APA Divisions accept session proposals that cover a variety of topics. Regardless of the subject matter, Divisions prioritize high-quality submissions that engage attendees in the exploration of evidence, theory, or practice.
IMPORTANT! Each Division identifies which topics and proposal types they are most interested in. Check the Division Program Requirements to make sure your proposal aligns with the goals of the Division you’re submitting to.

Division Posters
DEADLINE: January 14, 2026
APA Divisions encourage poster submissions to share the latest research findings, cutting edge ideas, innovations, and advances in the profession.

Psych Science in 3
DEADLINE: January 14, 2026
Educate us—but make it quick! Psych Science in 3 (PS-in-3) invites current graduate students and psychologists who have recently graduated (i.e., earned their PhD in 2024 or later) to share their research in three short minutes. Selection as a PS-in-3 finalist is an accomplishment that can be declared on your CV, job applications, grant applications, and more.

CE Workshops
DEADLINE: December 8, 2025
CE Workshops are in-depth training opportunities that help psychology practitioners stay on the cutting edge of the profession. Submissions on all topics are welcome, but APA’s Continuing Education Committee is particularly interested in interactive workshops that engage participants in active learning.
All participants are expected to understand and agree to the Rules for Participation.
The Call for Proposals closed at 5 p.m. ET, January 14, 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I present my session remotely?
All Division sessions will be held exclusively in-person. However, Divisions may decide on an individual basis to allow up to 25% of speakers to participate remotely.* The remaining 75% of the program’s presenters must be present in Washington, DC. It is advised that presenters contact Divisions directly for questions related to the feasibility of virtual participation.
*A remote presentation is a pre-recorded presentation adhering to the same duration requirements as a live presentation. Live streaming is cost prohibitive and can only be considered if a Division or session presenters can fund the cost of streaming themselves. Due to space and technology limitations, we may not be able to accommodate all sessions with virtual presenters. If we are unable to accommodate your request, you will be given the opportunity to replace the virtual speaker(s) or withdraw your proposal.
Can I withdraw my proposal or decline my invitation if I cannot attend?
Yes. We understand that circumstances change, and you may no longer be able to participate in APA 2026. Prior to the submission deadline, you can withdraw your proposal on the online platform. If you would like to withdraw your proposal after the submission deadline or decline your invitation, please email convention@apa.org. Please indicate your intention to withdraw as soon as you learn that participation will not be feasible.
Do I have to register for APA 2026?
Yes! ALL presenters and program participants—members, nonmembers, and students—are required to register and pay the appropriate registration fees for APA 2026. APA 2026 registration will open in April. We look forward to seeing you virtually or in Washington, DC!
